This 2022 second edition document from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides expert and experience-informed communication resource, including tools for public health and emergency management partners related to hurricanes, flooding, and other similar disasters. It includes tailored information for disproportionately impacted groups including older adults, LGBTQI+, and people with disabilties, chronic illness, and mental health disorders. The messaging it provides can be used across communication channels and platforms including, online, press releases, media talking points, social media, factsheets, and more. The document is also available in Spanish and is accompanied by an on-demand, virtual workshop training to support users in effectively implementing natural disaster public health messaging.
